So I am so excited about this post because I decided to make my first PROPER youtube video on Wednesday! I have been wanting to do this for months and months but just haven’t got around to doing it! So I finally have uploaded a video, and I am really excited to share it with you guys!

I decided to make this video on something that I always look to achieve when doing my makeup and that is – flawless skin. This is my ‘Everyday Foundation Routine’ and I hope you all enjoy watching! Any comments are welcome!

August BirchBAG!

As well as it being my birthday month, (which has sadly been ands gone) I was so excited about this months Birchbox, because it in fact wasn’t a box at all! It came in a cute ‘Scuba Birchbag’ Which I’m sure will come in handy at some point!

Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner – ‘Expresso’ RRP £10.50

So we all received an email on this months box stating that we would receive a Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner. We could choose between 2 colours – ‘Expresso’ and ‘Mulberry’. I chose the shade Expresso as I thought it was a much more wearable colour. Being a chocolate brown shade, I also thought it would accentuate my eye colour. I tried using this pencil on my waterline, but the colour didn’t pay off well. This pencil would be better used on the lid or underneath the eye to smoke out – which is what I will use it for now.

Philip Kingsley One More Day Dry Shampoo – RRP £14.50

I was happy to receive this product this month, as I do quite often use dry shampoo on days where I think ‘Meh, it can go another day without a wash’. So this is a really handy travel size to keep in my handbag for a quick top up! Big thumbs up from me!

Balance Me Radiance Face Mask – RRP £18

Again I was really pleased to see this included in this months selection! I absolutely love face masks, and haven’t tried one from ‘balance me’ before! This mask is clay based, which is my favourite type to use on my skin. It also claims to exfoliate and brighten the skin so I am really excited to see if this makes any difference!

anatomicals The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub – RRP £3.99

I needed a new body scrub as I am running out of my last one, so this was a pleasant surprise! The only downfall is that it is quite a cheap product as the full size is only £3.99 and it is nice to see high end products included. However I will get use out of this product and it has a lovely, fresh clean scent!

Merci Handy Antibacterial Hand Cleansing Gel – Black Vanilla RRP £2.90 (FULL SIZE)

So this is the only full size product included this month – again not a hugely expensive product, but it will sit happily in my handbag. I love carrying around hand gels and this one in particular smells loovveeelllyy. I will definitely use all of this up!

English Laundry Signature for Her Eau de Parfum – RRP £60

I remember receiving a perfume sample from English Laundry in a previous Birchbox and I was IN LOVE with the scent. So I was extremely excited to receive another sample this month. The smell is lovely, but not as nice as the one I received prior to this box/bag (it came in a gold casing) I still love the scent of this months sample so I will also be using this product!

All in all, I am really pleased with what I have received this month. I will be using every single product! So well done Birchbox! You have hit the nail on the head with this one! What did everyone think of what they received?

Benefit – KA Brow!

So, as my hair has been getting lighter and lighter over the past couple of months, I decided that that was a good enough excuse to buy a new eyebrow product! Plus, the new benefit brow range is just too pretty to say no to!

I decided to opt for KA brow as I do prefer to fill in my brows with a pomade – I tend to prefer a sharp defined brow! I got mine in shade number 3, I usually would have gone for a shade closer to number 4, but as I said my hair is getting lighter and I won’t stop bleaching it anytime soon! I was worried that these shades were going to be warm toned, but this colour seems to be a perfect match and not too warm! I hate that red tinge with some brow products, so an ashy shade is a must for me!

I do already own the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow (£15), which is a lovely formula and you do get more product, but unfortunately you don’t receive a brush with the product as you do with KA brow (£18.50). Besides benefit always package their products so beautifully, I find it so hard to resist! I would say that the formula isn’t as creamy as the Anastasia Dipbrow, but because the texture is a bit firmer with KA brow, you actually have a lot of control over the product.

Usually everyone hates the little brushes that come with most eyebrow products, but I was actually really happy with the way this brush applied the product, which is perfect as it is compact, and it actually works!

All in all, I am really happy with this product and would 100% recommend! Has anyone else tried any of the new benefit brow range? Comment your thoughts, I’d love to hear them!

NYX Haul!

Words can’t describe how excited I am that we can now get hold of NYX in the UK fuss free!  I was out shopping on a Sunday a couple of weeks back, and whilst browsing in Boots I thought ‘I wonder if they have a NYX stand in here’ and I literally turned around, and there it was, right in-front of me in all its glory!

So I obviously had to buy some products! I mean who in their right mind wouldn’t? I had previously bought a couple of the soft matte lip creams and was really impressed, so I thought I would try a couple shades of the butter glosses this time! I have to say I really like them! You can wear them on their own and you can still see the colour of the gloss clearly, or, you can team them up with your fave lipstick to add something extra on top! I sometimes add them to matte lipsticks to make the lipstick feel a bit more comfortable on the lips, yet still keeping the amazing colour. Here are swatches below, I got mine in the shades ‘Tiramisu’ and ‘Ginger Snap’ 🙂

Left Swatch: Tiramisu, Right Swatch: Ginger Snap.

I also decided to buy 2 more lip products being the Full Throttle Lipsticks. These are amazing quality for such a small price! They glide on so smooth and feel so incredibly velvety on the lips, but then dry down to a comfortable matte finish! The colours are so pigmented and intense, that they last for the most part of the day! I can’t wait to grab a few more colours! I’ve inserted some swatches below 🙂 I bought the shades ‘Kiss the Dust’ and ‘Con Artist’

Left Swatch: Kiss the Dust, Right Swatch: Con Artist.

Next up is eyeshadows! Now I have seen so many swatches of NYX shadows and thought that they look so highly pigmented and amazing, but have never actually gotten around to getting my hands on some! So I decided to get 2 shades being ‘Fireball’ and ‘Jaded’. I’m sure you can guess from the names which is which! But even though I haven’t actually used these yet, I was so impressed with the swatches and how much colour payoff there is!

Top: Jaded, Bottom: Fireball.

And lastly I decided to grab the Dewy finish setting spray! You should all know by now that I am a dewy kinda girl! Anything that is gonna give me an extra glow and help my skin to look more like skin, I am all over it! This definitely freshens up my skin after a spritz all over, and my skin feels more hydrated and looks fresh after use! For £7, I don’t have a bad word to say!

Overall I am so impressed with the quality of NYX products and I am so excited to go out and get more! What NYX products do you guys recommend me trying? I’d love to know!

July’s Birchbox!

So this months box was exciting as we had the option to choose between 2 full size John Frieda Products (Luxurious Volume In-Shower Treatment, or Frizz Ease Anti-Frizz Primer). As you can tell from the photos above, I decided to go for the anti-frizz primer! But we will talk more about that later..

Birchbox also collaborated with Millie Mackintosh this month, meaning we received ANOTHER full sized product! yay! And if you don’t know who Millie Mackintosh is, she took part in the first few series of Made in Chelsea, and if you don’t watch Made in Chelsea, well, you should. You can call me sad I don’t mind.

Anyway, on to the important stuff!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Forever Smooth Anti-Frizz Primer – £9.99 FULL SIZE

I decided to go for this option over the Volume In-Shower Treatment, because as I have said on numerous occasions, I get my hair washed at work about twice a week! And when I do wash it at home I don’t have time for In-Shower Treatments! However the idea is really good and if like a normal person I washed my hair at home, I would have gone for this option. My hair isn’t frizzy at all luckily, but I thought this Anti-Frizz Primer would work well for me before I blow-dry my hair. So I will definitely get use out of this when washing and drying my hair at home!

Nails Inc Nail Polish in ‘Oxford Street – £14.00

I was happy to see this miniature nail polish included in this months box, because I have recently had my acrylic nail extensions removed, so when my nails are back in good condition I will be experimenting with some more nail colours at home! I would describe this shade as a ‘coffee’ colour!

ELEMIS Hydra-Nourish Night Cream – £43.00

I wasn’t ecstatic about this product being in my box, because I just have so many creams and I like to stick to my skincare routine. However I do like ELEMIS as a brand and I might save this miniature for travelling. It comes with a hefty price tag, so I am expecting big things!

LOC X Millie Ultra-Gloss Lip Pencil in Bohemian Rose – £9.00 FULL SIZE

So this is the product that Birchbox and Millie Mackintosh made together and I really like it! The colour is beautiful as you can see in the swatch, and the gloss finish is lovely! I am very impressed and will definitely be getting a lot of use out of this lip pencil!

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum – £45.00

Again, I own so many skincare products that I love, I wasn’t exactly over the moon about receiving this. Like I said earlier, I will probably save it and use when travelling, as it is a handy miniature size! This also is quite a pricey product so I’m sure it is very good.

Most of the products in this box will get a lot of use, just a shame about receiving so many creams, as I really don’t need them! What did you guys get in your Birchbox this month? I’d love to hear your opinions!

Sleek Power Plump Lip Crayons

When I heard that Sleek were bringing out the Power Plump Lip Crayons, I knew I had to get my hands on them when they were available in stores – so that is exactly what I did!

There are 6 shades available but I only bought 5 (I thought I would miss out on the red shade, as I don’t ever wear red lipstick). Each shade is absolutely beautiful and unique to the next. The pigmentation is great, and the tingling sensation on your lips is even better! It really helps to give you that plumped pout!

These lip crayons are great because they are thin enough to line your lips, yet chubby enough to cover the rest in no time! They give a lovely satin finish, but one negative is that the colour doesn’t last as long as desired 😦 you have to top up quite frequently I would say.

I also didn’t know whether you could sharpen these but I am pretty sure you can! TIP – pop them in the freezer for 15 minutes so when you go to sharpen them, you don’t get lipstick all over it! I have heard that buying a sharpener from a brand such as NARS is better because they make their sharpeners strong enough to get through the plastic casing.

All in all, for £5.49 you can’t really go wrong. These lip crayons are quick, easy and fuss free! Although, I think you can get lip products from other drugstore brands which have a much better staying power!

I would love to hear your opinions! please leave a comment 🙂

My Holiday to KOS!

As you can tell from the title, this won’t be a beauty related post today! I wasn’t active on my blog for a while and being on holiday was part of the reason! I thought it would be a really nice idea to share a few photos with you guys 🙂 I don’t have many but a few is better than nothing right?

I’m going to start by saying that we (and by ‘we’ I mean my boyfriend and I) stayed in the most amazing hotel! It was a 5 star luxury hotel (Diamond Deluxe Hotel) situated in Lambi which is not far at all from Kos Town. The service was absolutely amazing and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! I don’t have a bad word to say about our stay here.

I would say this hotel is ideal for couples who want a relaxing getaway. But you can easily go into the town for a bit of night life! We stayed in the hotel for a lot of the time as it was so hot during the day we didn’t want to move much and it was lovely to get some time to ourselves away from work!

We did venture out a few days, and hired some bicycles which we thought would be a really fun idea, but the reality is, cycling in 35+ degree heat is a no go! I came back looking like an out of breath tomato! Never again!

On the last day we booked to go on a ‘3 island boat cruise’. This was absolutely lovely, we spent the whole day on the boat with lunch made for us, and we stopped off at 3 small islands – Pserimos, Kalymnos, and Plati.

Pserimos is a tiny island with a lovely beach and a couple of restaurants. It is home to about 100 people (I think) so there really wasn’t much to see, but it was nice to have a dip in the sea!

Kalymnos is a bigger island, and is the home to the greek sponge. When it came to trading goods, they didn’t know what to offer until they discovered the sponge! ‘Sponge divers’ would be made to dive down with a rock around their neck, and cut off as many sponges on the rocks as possible. They would then come back up to surface and repeat this process again, and again. Kalymnos were then able to trade these sponges all over the world. They are used for cleaning and washing etc.

Plati was the last island we visited, and a very small one at that! Only home to 1 person -yes you read that correctly! Before this island took on residency it was constantly getting invaded, so the Greek Government decided that if there were people to live on this island, it  would be declared an official Greek Island – and invasion wouldn’t be taken lightly. A couple then moved to this island, and the government would give them money and send them food/mail etc. The wife actually cheated on her husband! So now he is the only man on the island!

The photo above is the home to the only resident of Plati!

The following photos were taken of us on the cruise! 🙂

aaannnddd heres a selfie.. of course.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about my time in Kos! I would definitely recommend going there, it is a beautiful island!
